LUMPBOOK 01

Dear Readers,

First of all, please note in mind that we are just the 'non-professional' publisher.

But the good point of being non-professional is that we have accuses for the trial and error and deserve the forgiveness more than a professional. We love writing, reading and making books without a tiny bit of thought that it is a boring and hard job even though, in fact, making one book really needs much effort.

5 months before, I resigned from my full-time job as I wanted to do 'something' on my own. Several projects was done, some was successful while some not. Anyway, I learnt that doing the things I love does really have positive effect on my life. At least, I was getting calmer, stop complaining about the narrow-minded people who hardly open their minds for new perspectives.

Not really a new face in the publishing circle, yet we are not that old expertise in this field. Shall we give accuse beforehand that we are just few among others who love 'publication'?

LUMPBOOK this issue was started by such few words of invitation - "I want a compilation of dark-side stories" and when my writer friends knew, lots of stories were sent to us. Thanks you guys for helping in translating and also some of you who are happened to say the agreeing 'uh-huh' and then had to help us. Thanks for our fans who booked this LUMPBOOK since we first promoted.

And that's how LUMPBOOK begins, from our little budget.

We should not blame the limited of time we have been working for this book. But within a month, we have nothing to say except 'sorry' if you find any mistake.

At any rate, believe me, it will be your another choice if you want something new for life.

สวัสดีครับผู้อ่าน

ต้องแนะนำกันก่อนว่าเรา คือ "คนทำหนังสือมือสมัครเล่น"

การเป็นมือสมัครเล่นนั้นมีข้อดีอย่างหนึ่งคือ ลองผิดลองถูกได้ ไม่ต้องพึ่งพาใครมาก หรือต้องมาคิดหน้าคิดหลังเหมือนหนังสือที่ผลิตโดยมืออาชีพ  ทีมงานเรารักที่จะทำหนังสือ ไม่คิดว่า มันเป็นเรื่องเหน็ดเหนื่อย น่าเบื่อหน่าย แต่อย่างใด ทั้งที่ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว การทำหนังสือเล่มหนึ่งนั้น ต้องใช้พลังงานมหาศาล มีหน้าที่อีกหลากหลายที่เราไม่ถนัด การขาย การประสานงาน การติดต่อ

5 เดือนก่อน ผมลาออกจากงานประจำ ออกมาทำอะไรของตัวเอง คิดค้นทดลองโปรเจคใหม่ๆ ที่วาดฝันไว้ว่าอยากทำ หลายโปรเจคผ่านพ้น สำเร็จบ้าง ล้มเหลวบ้าง แต่ผมก็ค้นพบว่า การทำงานที่รักนั้น ส่งผลดีต่อการมีชีวิตอยู่ของเราจริงๆ อย่างน้อยก็ไม่ทำให้เราฟุ้งซ่าน บ่นเบื่อชีวิต ที่กินอยู่ หลับนอนในประเทศที่ยากจะมีใครรับสิ่งใหม่บ้าบอเหล่านี้ว่าเป็นเรื่องน่าสนใจ  บันทึกเก็บไว้เล่าขาน

อาจไม่ใหม่นักสำหรับนักอ่าน แต่ก็ไม่ได้เก่าแก่ เป็นผู้รู้แจ้งอยู่ในธุรกิจสิ่งพิมพ์เสียทีเดียว ขอออกตัวไว้ว่า เราเป็นเพียงบุคคลจำนวนน้อยนิดของประเทศ ที่ชอบทำงานสิ่งพิมพ์

ล้ำบุค เล่มนี้ ถูกผลิตขึ้นด้วยคำพูดไม่กี่คำ "อยากรวมงานเขียนอีกด้านของไทย" นักเขียนหลายท่านรู้ข่าว ส่งเรื่องมาให้ตีพิมพ์ บ้างก็เออออ ไปกับคำเชิญชวนระยะสั้นของเรา บ้างก็ขอช่วยแปล เขียนเพิ่ม และออกแบบช่วยเหลือเท่าที่จะทำได้ แม้แต่ผู้อ่านบางท่าน ถึงขั้นอีเมลสั่งจองเข้ามา ทั้งที่หนังสือยังไม่เป็นรูปร่าง

ล้ำบุคเล่มนี้เกิดขึ้นมาในสถาณการณ์เช่นนี้ ด้วยปัจจัยอันจำกัดจำเขี่ยของเราเอง

ด้วยระยะเวลาไม่ถึง 1 เดือนในการผลิต หนังสือเล่มบางขนาดทดลองเล่มนี้อาจมีข้อบกพร่องหลายๆ อย่าง โดยมิต้องคาดเดา

แต่เราเชื่อว่า มันจะเป็นอีกทางเลือกหนึ่ง สำหรับผู้อ่าน (ที่อยากหาอะไรใหม่ๆ ในชีวิต) ได้อย่างแน่นอน
